I’m flattered when fellow therapists and coaches ask if I’m willing to let them “pick my brain” over lunch. And I am happy to meet with people who want to ask for my insights as a professional.
But, to be frank, there aren’t enough lunch hours in the week for me to say yes to all of these lovely invitations, and, as you probably know, we can’t be professional counselors if we consistently give our support away at no cost. To help draw the line between business and pleasure, and to show due respect for the value of my experience, I created this popular offering.
You know the saying “there’s no such thing as a free lunch”? Well, this meeting is no exception. In exchange for my undivided attention, my very best professional advice, and my absolute candor over a nice leisurely lunch (at least one hour in length), my fee is $250 plus the price of the tab.
You might be thinking, “Whoa, that’s a lot of money.” And it is. But consider this: Prevailing research tells us people value what they pay for, and committing to this amount says a lot about your investment in yourself and our time together. When individuals pay for a business meeting, they tend to hone in on what they want to get out of the conversation. The time together becomes an investment—for both of us. And I’ve found it becomes incredibly productive.
So, are you ready for some food for thought? Just select a restaurant in Castle Rock, Colorado, (I’m happy to make recommendations) and get in touch so we can put lunch on our calendars.
A final note: If you don’t find the hour useful, I’ll happily buy my own meal.
