Hi, gang! I’m hoping you can help me pull resources together for all mental health professionals – state by state here in the US as well as for those who are in other countries. Remember? I mentioned earlier in the year that we actually have folks around the globe showing up to build community here.
So . . . if you know of an organization or networking group or two that are specifically designed for mental health professionals in your geographic area, please take a moment to tell us about them (including what state they are in).
In the mean time, here are resources that I have found for those in Colorado:
- Addiction and Recovery Professionals Meetup
- Boulder Psychotherapy Institute’s Networking List
- The Center for Dependency, Addiction, and Rehabilitation (CeDAR) Professional Development Lecture (and Lunch) Series
- Denver Private Practice Network Denver Therapists’ Network [updated 11-04-2011]
- Mental Health Professionals in Private Practice
- Mental Health Professionals of Southern Colorado
- Metro Denver Interdisciplinary Committee
- Sierra Tucson Professional Networking Luncheon for Denver
And, if you know of others in Colorado, please add them below, too!

I saw that at least one of these groups is using Meetup.com to organize. I would love to hear how that is working for them.

We are a group of volunteers and starting a new scheme in our community. Your web site offered us with valuable info to work on. You have done an impressive job and our entire community will be grateful to you.

Charolette, welcome to Private Practice from the Inside Out! I hope you and your colleagues will drop back in often and join our conversation. I would love to hear more about your new project and how I can help.

Tamara,
I remember you gave me a website for international psychotherapists but I can’t find the link. It was a UK based site. Well, my husband and I are planning on moving to the UK in a few years so until then, I would like to start making some connections, getting to know the rules and regulations regarding practicing there, etc. Can you help, please?
Thanks
Diana

Hi, Diana. Off the top of my head, no, I don’t remember where that was – but it would be a terrific list for us to start gathering. Here’s a link to every post I’ve written to date that is in any way related to networking. That may be a good place to start. If you find the info and add it here, I’ll be happy to throw up a post highlighting it for future use by other therapists.
Sorry I can’t be of more help right now!
