This is the introduction to an 11 part series to help you
build a great marketing kit.
What do you need to take with you when you are marketing your practice to other professionals?
- A business card
- Your professional bio (NOT a resume) – to highlight your expertise
- A menu / description of your services
- Article reprints about you
- Article reprints that you have written
- Press releases
- A brochure / fact sheet
- Client testimonials
- A personalized cover letter
- A portfolio
Take a few minutes right now to gather the items that you already have from the list above. For now, just take an inventory to see which ones are missing from your marketing kit. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be talking to you in detail about the specifics of these 10 essential items – helping you create the ones you don’t have and, hopefully, helping you improve on the ones that are not presenting the professional image that you desire.
I hope you will drop me a note (by adding a comment below) to let me know if you have your marketing kit in order.

Tamara,
Just been perusing some of your articles this morning. Very informative. I’ve been in private practice for 15 years now, and I I truly appreciate what you have offered here on your site. I will take you up on your suggestions. I especially like what you’ve said about a marketing kit. Sounds like a great idea.
Thanks for the useful info!

Hi, Nancie! Thank you so much for checking out my blog! I so appreciate it and know that the community here at Private Practice form the Inside Out certainly appreciates the voice of seasoned therapists – It’s not just newbies here so I hope you will drop back in often to chat with us!
Where are you geographically? And, what is it you do?

Hi Tamara,
I’m still working on completing my website, but it has the basics there.
I live and work in So. California. My husband and I work together on helping couples who are experiencing challenges due to one or both of them having ADHD. It’s pretty specialized.

Nancy, this is such a great niche! There is a huge need for this type of support. I look forward to hearing about your adventures as you grow your practice! Hope you’ll drop back in often to chat!

Hi,
I am just beginning to set up my practice. I am working on brochure and business cards. Thank you for all this info. I would love to know what to really “do” with everything once I have it. Do I put together a “kit” to mail out or do I show up and give out? How do I know who to give materials to? Any direction you can give would be super!
Best,
Toni

Hi, Toni and welcome to Private Practice from the Inside Out!
You’re so welcome and thank you for joining the conversation!
This community continues to grow and get stronger because of so many different therapists joining in the discussions here.
I can totally talk to you about these things and am in the process of putting a blog post together about this very thing. However, it’s going to be a few weeks until I can get this finished.
I’m in the middle of my fall speaking tour and still have Denver, Colorado and Omaha, Nebraska to go before I can finish the post up.
I hope others will drop in here to chat with you, too, until I can get back on track to finishing this for you.
I look forward to working with you and helping you build a strong and vibrant practice.!
