For Clincians who have had a loss to suicide (personally or professionally) here is an international listserve and web site to support you. It is hosted by Dr. Vanessa McGann. Please read her paragraph below.
Hello Everyone,
Just a brief hello and an invitation to touch base and post any thoughts, feelings or activities. I continue to add new clinicians to this listserve weekly and know that they and all of us would benefit from a little “chatting”. Also, we have some new narratives for our website – one is posted and the other one will be shortly. I urge you to read them by going to http://www.suicidology.org and clicking on the “I am a clinician survivor” button. Nina and I still want all of you to post any aspect of your experience. We hear often that these posts are so very helpful.
Thank you,
Vanessa McGann, Ph.D.

Tamara, a local list I joined recently for the Denver metro and surrounding area is:
http://groups.google.com/group/PPN-Denver?hl=en
Additionally, they offer networking meetings to connect to other private practice mental health professionals. It is a way to build connection and community so if I need to refer a client I know the clinician. I believe this builds better services to offer the client.

Brenda! An excellent resource! This is the Private Practice Network of Denver. Thanks so much for sharing this list with us!

Joseph Cauditilli sent notice of the Behavioral Counseling and Behavioral Coaching list on yahoogroups. Thanks, Joseph, for adding to our list!

I keep forgetting to tell you that there is also the Private Practice Network of Denver, Colorado. This is a discussion list of mostly seasoned therapists and is a terrific resource for me. It is a networking hosted by Michael Holtby, LCSW that also hosts monthly face to face networking and professional development opportunities.
Shaun Fischler says
This is an awesome resource list! Thank you Tamara.
Tamara says
Hi, Shaun! I’m so glad to have your voice here on Private Practice from the Inside Out and so pleased that you find it helpful! I hope as you find new resources (either her in Colorado or elsewhere) that you will share them with us here!
Always happy to help you network and build your practice!

I’m a member of The Clinicians Collective in New York, as well as 2 listservs for providers working with the LGBT community (LGBT-NASW and GenFamNYC). These groups have been very useful for establishing relationships with other mental health providers in NY. I would love to hear of any other useful listservs in the NY area!
Kiran Zelbo says
Hello! I am looking to post my services to the GenFamNYC listserv – recommended to my by the head of youth services at the Center (the LGBT community center downtown). Do you have any advice about how to join?
Tamara Suttle says
Hi, Kiran. No, I’m not familiar with the organization. You might try googling them to find their website. Perhaps their is info there. Best of luck!
